North Wales residents are being encouraged to book a place at the first online Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) and North Wales Police (NWP) public advice surgery.

The online session, scheduled for September 10 2024, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, is run by PCC Andy Dunbobbin and NWP.

The event is part of the Commissioner's mission to bring policing closer to residents.

This new approach will give people the chance to discuss community policing and voice their concerns or comments with the Commissioner and NWP representatives, all from their own homes.

Mr Dunbobbin reiterated his dedication to remaining an approachable commissioner for the region prior to his recent re-election.

With this goal in mind, he and the officers are ready to discuss matters impacting residents via this online platform.

Those attending can expect a 20-minute one-on-one chat with the Commissioner, and representatives from his office and the police force.

Conversations will be kept confidential with the team providing additional information about other agencies that can address an issue more appropriately.

Mr Dunbobbin said: "This upcoming online surgery marks a significant step forward in our efforts to strengthen the bond between me and the communities we serve across North Wales.

"By embracing this digital format, we're making it easier than ever for residents to have their voices heard, regardless of their location or circumstances."

He added: "This innovative approach demonstrates our commitment to accessibility and our adaptability in serving the people of North Wales."

The Commissioner's main responsibilities include deciding the police budget, setting policing priorities, listening and responding to public opinion on policing, and holding the chief constable accountable.

During these online sessions, the PCC will be joined by his staff and NWP, who will facilitate meetings and take notes where necessary.

Appointments will only cover matters related to policing, crime or community safety.

To reserve a spot, residents can contact the PCC’s office providing their name, contact information, and the topic they want to discuss.

Bookings are made via email opcc@northwales.police.uk, phone 01492 805486, or post.
