THE COUNCIL have confirmed they are investigating after several complaints were made about a vape store in Rhuddlan.

In early July, Rhuddlan town councillor, and former Mayor, Mike Kermode, said "several people" had complained to him about the store, located on the High Street.

This was in relation to the signage at front of the premises, with a Rhuddlan Town Council meeting on July 11 saying the business "may require the express consent of the County Council under the Advertisement Regulations".

Councillor Kermode said: "Several people have complained to me about the Vape Shop and have asked me what the Town Council’s views are.

"It is really a matter for Denbighshire County Council (DCC)."

"DCC says that planning permission would not be required for the use of the Vape Shop.

"The signage, however, which appears to have been placed on the frontage of the premises may require the express consent of the County Council under the Advertisement Regulations."

The town council said it was up to Denbighshire County Council to "enact their internal planning and enforcement protocol".

A spokesperson for Denbighshire County Council said: "The Council’s Place Improvement team has received reports of this issue and is currently investigating further."
