AN UNAUTHORISED encampment has been spotted along Rhyl’s seafront.
A resident told the Journal that a campervan and a 4x4 vehicle has been parked up on the town’s promenade since Friday (August 9).
The witness added that residents in the area intend to write to Denbighshire County Council for more to be done to prevent this from happening.
“They’ve been OK again, having arrived late Friday and are still here today,” the witness said.
“(But) the residents are growing frustrated and are writing an open letter to the council to do more, and also to put some prevention measures in place to stop this.
“It’s happening every weekend now, and it’s becoming a free campsite opposite our homes."
In response, a council spokesperson said: “A team will visit this location shortly to confirm whether the occupiers require further assistance.”
Multiple groups of “Travellers” parked in similar spots in Rhyl in July, while there was also a similar encampment at the town’s Morrisons supermarket car park last month.
