A PERFORMING arts group in Rhyl has selected by the town’s mayor, Cllr Cheryl Williams, as one of her chosen charities for the mayoral year.

Work in Progress, which puts positive mental health and wellbeing at the heart of everything it does, thanked the mayor for her “strong support”.

As a chosen charity, Work in Progress was delighted to also have been invited to attend the Rhyl Summertime Weekender this weekend.

Members will be collecting donations at the Pavilion Theatre, 1891 Terrace, between 2-6pm on August 3 and 4.

Chairman Toby Fagan and artistic director Leslie Churchill Ward attended Cllr Williams’ civic service.

In a joint statement, they said: “We are honoured to receive such strong support as we celebrate and promote inclusion, positive mental health, and friendship through exploration of the performing arts.”
