AN EVENTS and fancy dress/makeup/special effects company based in Prestatyn which suddenly closed last month has denied ignoring customers who are owed refunds.
Garden Den/Go Big Events, based on Bastion Road, confirmed its closure on June 27, saying it has been left with “no other option” but to cease trading after eight years of business.
Anyone with outstanding bookings who will require a refund was asked to email gardendengobig@gmail.com.
Since then, though, the Journal understands that numerous customers have yet to be refunded.

When contacted by the Journal, the company said it is not ignoring anyone, is replying to every email or message it receives, and is processing refunds.
A spokesperson for the business added: “A number of people have now received their refunds and have done so from ourselves and some through their banks.
“These things are taking longer, as we are having to confirm every refund with the bank to ensure that no-one is refunded twice, as no customers are making us aware once (their) refunds have been received.
“We do understand this can be frustrating and completely appreciate that.”
The spokesperson added that closure was “not something we ever wanted”, having been “providing successful parties for a number of years”.
Their statement added: “All we did was close a business, as many others have, and this is not something we ever wanted to do.
“That was our livelihood and we have lost that, and that is heartbreaking, and we are sorry for that.”
In its initial statement on June 27, Garden Den/Go Big Events asked people to be “patient” and not become “aggressive and threatening”.
Anyone seeking a refund was asked not to arrive at its shop, as the business said it could not assist with cash refunds.
