Denbighshire Leisure Ltd has announced the cast for the international smash hit musical, Blood Brothers, set to hit Rhyl Pavilion Theatre this August.

The return of past cast members includes Vivienne Carlyle, headlining as Mrs Johnstone, Joe Sleight, Sean Jones and Gemma Brodrick, taking up their respective roles.

Excitement is brewing for the newcomers James Ledsham, Ben Mabberley, and Dominic Gore to the theatre scene.

Ms Carlyle is a name that's seen countless standing ovations for her portrayal as Mrs Johnstone in the West End.

Alongside Ms Carlyle, Mr Sleight and talent Mr Jones are reprising their roles as the drama’s twin brothers Mickey and Eddie, and Ms Brodrick returns as Linda.

Additionally coming back to the stage are Sarah Jane Buckley, Scott Anson, Tim Churchill, Chloe Pole, Alex Harland, Graeme Kinniburgh and Jess Smith.

The acclaimed musical, penned by award-winning playwright Willy Russell, saw it started as a play in a Liverpool comprehensive school in 1981.

It made its musical debut in the Liverpool Playhouse two years later and has since had worldwide success.

Recognition includes four awards for 'Best Musical in London' and seven Tony Award nominations on Broadway.

Blood Brothers tells the heartbreaking tale of twins separated at birth, growing up with contrasting lifestyles, and reuniting with devastating consequences.

The powerful play features hits including 'A Bright New Day', 'Marilyn Monroe' and 'Tell Me It’s Not True'.
