A SPONSORED walk which took place in Rhyl last weekend in aid of a Denbigh community interest company has raised £2,000.

Cynnig and Activities For You CIC provides support and activities for adults with complex needs, such as learning difficulties, autism and mental health issues.

On Saturday, July 27, a sponsored walk was held to raise funds for the group, where participants will walk from Marine Lake to Splash Point and back.

All money raised will go directly to funding the next group day out, with any surplus being ring-fenced for future trips.

Sarah Davies, Cynnig deputy manager, said: “We have currently raised £2,000, and are still collecting sponsorships!

“Benjamin the Fundraising Bear joined us, too. We had the best day - everyone worked so hard, and we walked just short of five miles.”
