A JUDGE has warned a Rhyl man that he will be jailed should he come back before the courts again.

Mark Hatswell, of Ernest Street, appeared before Mold Crown Court for a breach of suspended sentence hearing on Wednesday, July 24.

The 39-year-old had previously been sentenced for a charge of threats to kill on December 22, 2022.

Simon Rogers, prosecuting, said that the defendant had received a 22-month prison sentence, which was suspended 24 months.

He was the subject of a 12-month Drug Rehabilitation Requirement (DRR), and ordered to complete 25 building better relationship sessions, as well as 25 Rehab Activity Requirement days.

The breach in question occurred due to Hatswell - who was unrepresented in court - failing to attend sessions on January 29 and June 5.

Mr Rogers said that Hatswell had attended four sessions since he missed those two however.

He had completed 15 of the 25 building better relationships sessions, the court was told.

The court also heard that this was the second time that he had breached the terms of his suspended sentence.

Sentencing Hatswell, Judge Niclas Parry said: "Crikey. You've been to jail two or three times. You've breached the suspended sentence once, now you've breached it again.

"You have simply got to play your part in this. If you come back before the court again, you’ll have to go to jail.”

Judge Parry added five more building better relationships sessions to Hatswell's tally and ordered him to pay a fine of £150.

He added: "Do not come back please."
