Have you spotted the Towyn van that's rarer than a supercar?

The rare red Mark 1 Ford Transit pickup from 1974 is one of only 15 still registered in the UK - making it rarer than a Bugatti, Ferrari or Lamborghini.

According to the website howmanyleft.co.uk, there are only 15 Mk1 Transit vans from that year still registered in the whole UK - and only six of those are still licensed to drive.

By contrast there are 137 Bugatti hypercars registered in the UK, 3,841 Lamborghinis and 12,751 Ferraris.

The Mk1 Transit was the van that became an icon. Build in Berkshire, Ford's Transit van was the backbone of British commercial transport for almost 60 years. The Mk1 first went into production in 1965, it's nimble handling and spacious capacity quickly building its popularity.

Through the 70s and 80s it underwent facelifts and redesigns and became a byword for light commercial vans, but early versions are becoming harder to find as time and hard work take their toll.

This Mk1 van's home was, until recently, the seaside town of Towyn where it was spotted for sale.

Having found a buyer the the workhorse is on its travels once more - so keep your eyes peeled for this ultra-rare sight.
