PRESTATYN Carnival enjoyed a successful return yesterday (July 20), as a parade from the town's High Street was led towards Bastion Road Field.
First held in 1921, the carnival provides a colourful spectacle as it winds its way down Prestatyn’s High Street and through the town centre to the carnival field on Bastion Road.
The parade travelled down High Street, before turning left into Bridge Road, making its way over the railway bridge, and lastly turning into Bastion Road.
A competition was also held for the parade’s best entry, with former Prestatyn and Meliden mayor, Cllr Bob Murray, having decided that this year’s theme will be “the magic of musicals”.
There were also competitions for best fancy dress, business, and non-profit group entries in the parade.
