THE postmaster of a branch of the Post Office in Meliden is to retire from his position after 40 years of service.
Denis O'Donnell is retiring on July 1, having started in the role on August 1, 1984.
The Post Office said it is not looking to replace this branch, on Ffordd Talargoch, following Mr O’Donnell’s retirement.
Its nearest alternatives are on Meliden Road, which is a mile away, or in Prestatyn, which is 1.4 miles away.
A Post Office spokesperson said: “We sincerely thank postmaster Denis O’Donnell for serving the community of Meliden for 40 years and we wish him a well-earned retirement.”
