A TRUST based in Rhyl which was set up last year to preserve a Grade I listed building near Abergele has been dissolved.
Kinmel Hall Preservation Trust was incorporated in February 2023, which aimed to preserve Kinmel Hall, dubbed the “Welsh Versailles” but which has stood empty for 25 years.
Per Companies House, the charity was dissolved on July 9, following a striking-off application being made in April.
Its registered address was 17 Clwyd Street, Rhyl.

The charity’s stated aims included preserving Kinmel Hall, and the advancement of arts, culture, heritage and education of the public at the site.
It had four listed directors - Paul Hughes, who was chairman of the Friends of Kinmel Hall community group, Harold Burrows MBE, Jonathan Fenton-Vince, and Andrew Sumner.
In 2021, it was said that Kinmel Hall, a French-style Edwardian manor, only has another five years in its current condition before further damage, including roof collapses, will put it beyond repair.
The property was sold at auction in May of that for £950,000 to new owner, Chris Cryer.
Prior to the auction, campaigners had warned that the future of the property would be at risk if action was not taken to preserve it.
