VIDEO footage has been shared of the moment two people were arrested in Rhyl on suspicion of possession of class A drugs.

Shared by North Wales Police, the video shows two individuals being detained in Morley Road Park.

One of them is told they are under arrest on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

“I’ve seen you speaking down by Morrisons (supermarket) to people that are known to be concerned in drug supply,” an officer tells one of them.

“There’s intelligence that links you to County Lines activity - you’ve been seen with other known drug users in a location that’s known for drug-dealing.”

North Wales Police is rolling out a multi-agency partnership tactic called Clear, Hold, Build, designed by the Home Office to regenerate areas most affected by serious and organised crime.

The first area it is rolling out the initiative is in Rhyl West, where it is known as “RENEW”.

This long-term project aims to make it more difficult for organised crime groups to operate, by disrupting their activity and their incomes.

It will help to protect those living, visiting and working in Rhyl West, and assist those vulnerable to manipulation by gangs.

North Wales Police said: “By working together and listening to residents’ needs, RENEW will regenerate areas blighted by serious and organised crime and will allow residents to reclaim their communities, building long-term resilience against organised crime groups and help prevent future threats to safety.”
