A VEHICLE caught fire while driving on the A55 at Rhuallt Hill in Denbighshire earlier this afternoon (July 17).
This happened in the westbound direction of the road, between junctions 29 (Pant-Y-Dulath) and 28 (Rhuallt).
A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said one crew was called to the incident shortly before 1pm.
The vehicle in question suffered 100 per cent fire damage and removed from the road by 1.35pm, with the blaze extinguished by 1.40pm.
Nobody was said to have been hurt in the incident.
Witness Dawn-Louise Jones, who shared the attached photos, said she spoke to the two young people who were travelling in the vehicle.
They told her they were on their way to go camping in Eryri when it occurred.
She said “We stopped and stayed with them until police and fire got to the scene, who both arrived very quickly.
“Fire and police were on the scene within five minutes, to be fair to them."
“I'm just glad they were safe.”
