NORTH Wales has been named in the 'Top 3' UK staycation locations for a quiet and relaxing holiday.

New data from bedroom furnishings experts Bed Kingdom has gathered the latest CIEH Noise Surveys for England and Wales, finding the total number of noise complaints per 1,000 residents in the UK.

North Wales was third in the ranking with 3.18 complaints per 1,000 people.

The region features picturesque coastlines, like those on the Llyn Peninsula and one of the UK's top holiday spots, Anglesey, which has the lowest number of noise complaints in north Wales at 1 per 1,000 residents.

North Wales is also the home to Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) with its highest peak, Yr Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon).

It also offers rural staycations in beautiful locations such as Llandudno along the Welsh coast, Abersoch, Llangollen and Conwy.

South West England was named the quietest UK area, with only 2.70 noise complaints per 1,000 people, followed by West Northern Ireland with 2.95 complaints per 1,000 people.

Ashley Hainsworth from Bed Kingdom commented on the findings. She said: “Consistent exposure to noise can significantly impair a person's quality of life, leading to a range of health issues, including stress, fatigue, and decreased cognitive function.

“One of the top reasons for going away on holiday is to escape the noise, stresses and hardships of daily life.

"Looking at noise pollution is essential for finding restful holiday destinations where individuals can unwind and rejuvenate.”
