HOLLYWOOD star Spencer Wilding oft dubbed "Rhyl's most famous man" was back home recently to shoot an independent horror film back in his hometown.
During a return to North Wales, squeezed between appearances at major comic cons in America and an appearance at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, 'Big Spen' shot scenes for the horror film called Blood/Stream.
Spencer, who has appeared in Star Wars: Rogue One, Guardians of the Galaxy, Dungeons and Dragons, and the new Toxic Avenger film, plays the character of Seth. It is a character written with Spencer in mind that the producers call a cross between The Boy's Butcher and Halloween's Michael Myers.
The movie is an anthology, fin the style of "Tales from the Crypt" and the "V/H/S" franchise, with Spencer appearing in a chapter called Fox and the Hen, which was filmed on location and Mindale Farm in Meliden, near Prestatyn.
Alongside Spencer, Fox and the Hen, described as North Wales folk horror, stars Vicki Glover (Ship of the Damned, Ripper's Revenge) and introduces Melissa Jarernsiri.
Stevie (Glover) and Jody (Jarernsiri) become lost hiking across the countryside, on their way to a hen night. As a storm rolls in, they take shelter in an old farm shed, where they encounter Seth.
At the night goes on, Stevie and Jody start to believe there is more to Seth than meets the eye.
Producer Mark Adams said: "Spencer's performance is intense and mesmerising, exactly what you want for a horror movie.
"He is no stranger to horror having played the Wolfman, as well as the iconic Darth Vader, but this might be Spencer's most terrifying performance yet. We are so excited for people to see it."
Blood/Stream is currently being crowdfunded, giving film fans the chance to get in early and be part of making the film the best it can be.
They can secure a DVD, Blu-ray, or digital download, or even receive a production credit on the final film.

Four of the stories - another starting horror icon Barbie Willde who played the Female Cenobite in Hellbound: Hellraiser 2, have already been shot and are at various stages of post-production, and the remaining have been written and planned.
Each focus on a different aspect of the human body, and combines chilling scares, smart ideas, and an inevitable gore-fest of bloodletting.
