A POPULAR Jamaican-inspired restaurant based in Flintshire is opening a second branch in Prestatyn next week.

Award-winning 'Up a Yard' has taken Holywell by storm since it opened during lockdown after owner Charlotte Stanley began delivering dishes locally to those more vulnerable.

Now, Charlotte will launch 'Back a Yard', a new venue also offering homemade authentic Jamaican dishes, homemade cocktails and a unique late night music lounge featuring Reggae nights.

Announcing a soft-launch on Wednesday, July 10 from 4pm Charlotte has expressed her excitement for the new project, following on from her success in the Holywell community.

"Works going well now I’m seeing some progress", she said.

"It has been a hardworking couple of months and it’s definitely been a bigger project than I imagined but now seeing it all come together is fabulous. It's what I've dreamed of."

Charlotte bought the venue situated on Prestatyn High Street in April and has completed most of the refurbishment herself with help from friends and family. It will occupy the former Lola's Bar, bringing the taste if her heritage to the area.

She is keen to keep the interior design a secret until the grand opening.

"I am so excited for the launch so people can see the progress and work we have all achieved.

"We are already near fully booked and the week and weekend has bookings. I'm feeling so excited for it."

Her existing business Up a Yard was awarded 'Best World Cuisine' in the 2023 Wales Food Awards, and has been nominated again this year.

Charlotte and her dedicated team can't wait to bring a taste of Jamaica to a second location in North Wales.

Opening hours will be confirmed soon on the back_a_yard_uk_ Instagram page.
