AN ORANGE-coloured off-road bike has been seized by police after a male was seen riding it “dangerously” outside a school in Meliden.

Earlier today (June 27), police received a number of reports that the male was riding the bike dangerously by Ysgol Y Melyd.

The reports stated that the male was riding the off-road bike towards both pupils and pedestrians, and also riding in and out of traffic at speed.

Officers from the North Wales Police’s Roads Crime Unit, assisted by officers from the Armed Alliance and Prestatyn’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, attended the area shortly afterwards and located both the male and the off-road bike outside of an address in Meliden.

The bike has since been seized and retained by police, and the rider is assisting police with its enquiries.

A police spokesperson said: “The rider will now have to explain to the courts their actions and an order will be made to the court for the off-road bike to be forfeited.”
