A “FAMILY friendly music festival” enjoyed a spectacular return to Rhuddlan for the first time in five years last weekend.

RhuddFest, based at Morfa Lodge, Abergele Road, was held on June 21, 22 and 23, and was hailed as being “bigger and better than ever”.

Above, you can enjoy a photo gallery of the weekend’s festivities.

The summer solstice fire and light party and pyrotechnic parachute display opened the festival, along with a fire, laser and light show, fire dancers, street food, and the Batala Bangor drum band.

There were also walkabout fire dancers, live music, street food and a licensed bar, while Blippi was in attendance to entertain children.

This year’s festivities also included performances from a Queen tribute act and The George Formby Society on the main stage on June 22, while Kezia Gill headlined the country stage on the same day.

Also on June 22, there were motorbike stunt shows, chainsaw speed carving, magic shows, a kids’ mini disco, a Disney singalong, circus skills, and more.

RhuddFest concluded on June 23 with North Wales’ strongest man, The Rock Choir, a Welsh music stage headlined by Morgan Elwy, speed carving auctions and flyball dog races.

A tug of war competition was also held on June 23, with representatives of North Wales Police, North Wales Fire and Rescue, and the RNLI all taking part.

On both June 22 and 23, there were artisan market stalls for people to enjoy, as well as camping provisions.

RhuddFest organiser Peter Kenway said: “It's truly humbling how many have supporting the growth of our little festival, creating memories that our children, and yours, will remember for the rest of their lives.”
