CHILDREN at a school in Prestatyn have been pond-dipping and had lots of fun learning about wildlife, pond life and life cycles.

Pupils at Ysgol Penmorfa have been enjoying “life skills sessions” with Clare McComish, the school’s life skills gardening lead.

Clare said: “I applied for a wildlife package from Keep Wales Tidy, which included a pond.

“We worked with Peter, from Keep Wales Tidy -  the children have been pond-dipping and have had lots of fun learning about wildlife, pond life and life cycles during our life skills sessions.

“It is such a wonderful experience as the children fully engage with nature, which is great for wellbeing, for their learning and for instilling a lifelong passion for biodiversity and caring for our environment.

“We feel very blessed to be able to offer such wonderful learning experiences to our children at Ysgol Penmorfa.”
