A PUB in Abergele which has been threatened with legal action by JD Wetherspoon has altered the “Wetherspoons” signage from its premises.
Yesterday (June 19), the Journal reported how the large pub chain is suing The Bridge Head, on Bridge Street, regarding the sign which featured on the front of its property.
Today, JD Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: "We have received confirmation that the signage has been altered."
Asked if this means JD Wetherspoon will no longer be pursuing legal action against the pub, the chain declined to comment further.

Abergele pub to reopen under new management
Per Companies House, Wetherspoons Ltd’s registered office address is that of The Bridge Head – Bridge Street, Abergele – with the company having been incorporated on February 10.
The pub also garnered some criticism upon its re-opening for changing from a Welsh to an English name.
Its manager declined to comment when approached by the Journal.
JD Wetherspoon’s initial statement read: "We were made aware of a pub in Abergele in Conwy using the name ‘Wetherspoons Ltd’ on their signage.
"Despite a number of requests to the pub owners to remove the reference to Wetherspoons, they refused, and we have therefore had to issue court proceedings asking the court order that they do so.
"We hope that the matter can still be resolved amicably."
