A PUB in Abergele is being sued by JD Wetherspoon for using the name “Wetherspoons” on signage at its premises.
The Bridge Head, previously the Pen y Bont Inn, on Bridge Street, re-opened to customers on March 1.
But Wetherspoon is taking legal action regarding the “Wetherspoons” sign which features on the front of the pub.

Abergele pub to reopen under new management on Friday!
A spokesman for Wetherspoon said: "We were made aware of a pub in Abergele in Conwy using the name ‘Wetherspoons Ltd’ on their signage.
"Despite a number of requests to the pub owners to remove the reference to Wetherspoons, they refused, and we have therefore had to issue court proceedings asking the court order that they do so.
"We hope that the matter can still be resolved amicably."
Per Companies House, Wetherspoons Ltd’s registered office address is that of The Bridge Head – Bridge Street, Abergele – with the company having been incorporated on February 10.
The pub also garnered some criticism upon its re-opening for changing from a Welsh to an English name.
Its manager declined to comment when approached by the Journal.
