ARRANGEMENTS at household waste recycling centres (HWRCs) in Denbighshire have changed following disruption to collections in the county.

This arrangement, applying only to the sites at Denbigh, Rhyl and Ruthin, means that residents no longer need to book in advance to use the facilities.

Those who wish to use the pop-up services in Corwen and Llangollen, or the Plas Madoc site in Wrexham, will still need to make an advance booking.

From June 3, Denbighshire County Council introduced a new system, which includes the scrapping of the blue wheelie bin, as well as new containers and weekly collections for recyclable materials.

Residents will now be required to separate their “dry” recycling using a three-tier “Trolibocs” service, which has been delivered to households since February.

But the council has already apologised for some recycling collections not being carried out on the correct days.

You will be able to take any type of recycling to the HWRCs, as long as it is separated into the different materials.

A booking can be made upon arrival using a tablet provided - assistance will be provided if needed.

Denbighshire County Council said: “Capacity has been increased at our HWRCs to enable more people to visit each day.

“For the quickest and most convenient visit to a HWRC, we still recommend booking in advance.

“If you have commercial vehicles that hold an e-permit allowing the deposit of household waste, you must continue to make an advance booking.”
