A NEW “pop music-themed venue” has opened its doors in Rhyl.

Pop40, on Water Street, celebrated its “soft launch” on Friday (June 14), following delays to previous planned openings.

Currently, it is open from 7pm-12am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, but it has plans to extend its opening day and times in the near future.

It will also be showing some of the matches of the Euro 2024 football tournament on its screens throughout the next month.

A spokesperson for the venue said: “It’s primarily a pop music-themed venue, playing a selection of all the big chart and party hits from across all the decades.

“We’ll be looking at doing some themed nights that tie in with this in the near future.

“We opened this weekend, but treated this weekend as a bit of a soft launch - but we had a great first week, and are looking forward to the future ahead.

“We’re also working on a new cocktail menu, which we hope to implement within the next week.

“About 95 per cent of our music library also has its corresponding music videos, which we display on the screens throughout the venue.”
