A NEW pharmacy is due to open in Towyn later this month.

Towyn Pharmacy, which will be located on Towyn Road, will welcome customers for the first time on Monday, June 24.

It will offer all NHS and some private services, independent prescribing for common acute conditions, opportunities for independent contractors to rent any one of its three consultation rooms, and a competitive retail selection.

Its owner, Naeem Anjam, from Colwyn Bay, has also run Moelwyn Pharmacy in Blaenau Ffestiniog for roughly the last five years.

He said: “After Lloyds Pharmacy closed down in Towyn, there was no one servicing the area, so the community lost its ‘pharmacy hub’ almost overnight.

“I’m hoping this will help boost and rejuvenate the area for the locals; not just the tourists.

“Especially nowadays, it’s harder to get a doctor’s appointment, so this will increase accessibility, too.”

Located across the road from where Lloyds Pharmacy was based in Towyn, the business will begin by employing one pharmacist (Naeem) and two dispensing assistants.

Naeem added that he plans to grow his staff numbers as the business hopefully expands, though.

Towyn Pharmacy will open from 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday, and 9am-12pm on Saturdays, while it will be closed on Sundays.
