A NURSE from Denbighshire has been given a conditions of practice order after an investigation into a number of “alleged concerns” was launched.

Jessica Jayne Davies, a registered nurse and independent prescriber, was handed an interim conditions of practice order for a period of 18 months.

Her case was heard by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) investigating committee at a hearing on May 30.

The interim order will be reviewed by the panel before the end of the next six months and every six months thereafter.

The panel said the investigation into Mrs Davies was still at an “early stage” given the number of alleged concerns.

Examiners are yet to decide “whether there is a case to answer” in relation to the allegations made against Mrs Davies, with the next stage of her disciplinary process to be confirmed at a later date.

Mrs Davies’ interim order, which the panel said was “proportionate and appropriate”, may be revoked or amended, or be replaced with an interim suspension order.

The interim practice order requires Mrs Davies to limit her employment to one agency, meet with her line manager/mentor/supervisor on a weekly basis to discuss her practice, and keep the NMC informed on her progress.

The NMC’s report on the hearing stated: “The panel decided to make this interim order for a period of 18 months, given the early stage of the NMC investigation and the number of alleged concerns.

“Unless Mrs Davies’s case has already been concluded, this interim order must be reviewed before the end of the next six months and every six months thereafter.

“Additionally, Mrs Davies or the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) may ask for the interim order to be reviewed if any new evidence becomes available that may be relevant to the interim order.

“At any review a panel may revoke the interim order or any condition of it, it may confirm the interim order, or vary any condition of it, or it may replace the interim conditions of practice order with an interim suspension order.

“The NMC Case Examiners are yet to decide whether there is a case to answer in relation to the allegations made against Mrs Davies.

“The NMC will write to Mrs Davies when the case is ready for the next stage of the fitness to practise process.”
