A POLICE cordon was put in place on Rhyl’s High Street today (June 5) following reports of a burglary.
The cordon was set up around the CEX shop on High Street this morning.
Shortly before 3am this morning, officers received a report of burglary at the store.
It is reported that two individuals wearing dark clothing and face coverings were seen in the area riding pushbikes and may have been involved in the incident.
One officer was seen leaving the store, carrying a bag marked “evidence”, while glass on the shop’s front door appeared to have been smashed.
District Inspector Kevin Smith said: “We are appealing for residents and businesses in the local area to review CCTV footage between 9pm last night and 4am this morning and to contact us if you see anything suspicious, particularly if you have information about the two individuals described above.
“There will continue to be a police presence in the area today while our investigations continue.”
