A COUPLE of men were arrested at a holiday park in Abergele on suspicion of attempted murder.

This followed an incident on May 22, which led to a man presenting himself at The Royal Oldham Hospital with gunshot wounds, and another receiving serious knife wounds on Busk Road, Oldham.

Yesterday afternoon (May 28), Greater Manchester Police, with assistance from specialised colleagues at North Wales Police, executed a warrant at the Abergele holiday park.

As a result, the two man, aged 32 and 22, were arrested.

A third man, aged 28, was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All remain in police custody ahead of being questioned by detectives.

Detective Inspector Alex Wilkinson, of Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team, said: “So far, we have conducted five search warrants and nine property searches have been executed as part of our investigation, while securing two charges and making a total of eight arrests.

“Our work is far from over but the investigation is moving at pace, and we continue to work relentlessly to capture a picture of what happened leading up to the incident.

“We continue to urge anyone who has any information or any CCTV, mobile or dashcam footage from the area in the evening of 22 May to contact us as a matter of urgency.

Stephen Wilson, 28, from Salford and Jordan Aston, 33, of no fixed abode were both charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon earlier this week, in connection with the same incident.
