A WOMAN from Abergele is to open a new winery and bakery – situated next door to each other – in the town.
Linda Dykes, who has also run Diamond Cleaning in Abergele for the last 15 years, plans to welcome customers to both The Winery (Y Gwindy) and The Bakery (Y Becws), from July.
These will be both be situated on Market Street, with The Bakery taking on the premises previously occupied by Cumberland House Bakery.

The Winery and The Bakery will be serving customers four and six days a week respectively, with both due to open for the first time on the same as-yet unconfirmed date in July.
Linda, 58, said: “I’ve had loads of support so far, which has been absolutely amazing.
“I’ve always wanted a pub, but I don’t want to get involved in hot food – so I thought about making just a small, up-market wine and cheese board place, so it looks like my dream has come true!
“The Bakery, I think, will just go hand in hand with The Winery, and I think there’s a big need for one in Abergele.
“They will support each other having joined together – people can walk out of one and go straight into the other.”
The Winery will not be serving meals, but will offer cheese and charcuterie boards and more, which can be adapted to the customer’s preference.
In addition, anything purchased from The Bakery can be brought into The Winery to enjoy with an alcoholic, hot or cold drink.
There will also be a outdoor seating area at the front of The Winery, meanwhile.
Linda added that she is planning “a few surprises” for opening day, and said her cleaning business will continue as normal.
She said: “At The Bakery, there will be fresh bread, cakes, pasties, rolls, baguettes… I think there’ll be something there for everybody.
“Diamond Cleaning will also still be running as normal – it’s too busy; there’s no way I could close that down! It keeps you young!”
