A WOMAN was allegedly bitten on the leg by a dog in Prestatyn during an incident earlier this week.
The Journal was contacted by a resident, who asked to be anonymous, stating that she witnessed the incident at about 12.20pm on May 22, on Ffordd Penrhwylfa.
She described the dog as an “adult German Shepherd”, and described the incident as “absolutely horrific”.
“I was walking along Ffordd Penrhwylfa when I noticed a female walking her German Shepherd dog on a short lead without a harness or muzzle,” she said.
“I also noticed another lady walking towards her, wearing tracksuit bottoms.
“All of a sudden, the dog leapt towards this passer-by, pulling its owner and biting the victim’s leg, completely tearing her bottoms. She screamed so loud and cried.
“She was so panicked and scared, she nearly fell into the busy road to try and get away. It was absolutely horrific to witness.”
North Wales Police said it had not received reports of any such incident.
In 2019, a child was bitten by a dog – also described as a German Shepherd – on the same road in Prestatyn while they were enroute to school.

The witness added: “You hear of so many dog attacks in the news lately, it’s awful to think horrifying incidents like this can happen on our doorstep.
“I hope appropriate action is taken, and the victim recovers well from her terrifying ordeal.
“I don’t know the names of anyone involved, but the public should be warned.”
