A TREE in Prestatyn was almost felled by high winds last night (May 22).
The tree, on Archers Green, was left with one branch barely attached to its trunk, as heavy wind and rain battered the North Wales coastal area.
The image was captured by resident Andrew Brown, who spoke of his “surprise” at the damage done as it had not been “as windy as in the past”.

He told the Journal: “It was quite windy, but not as windy as in the past so was surprised to see this.”
The incident comes as an amber weather warning is in place across most of North Wales until today (May 23), which would lead to flooding in some areas.
A flood alert has been issued in areas of Conwy and Denbighshire following heavy rainfall.
