A FLOOD alert has been issued in areas of Conwy and Denbighshire following heavy rainfall.
The Met Office issued an amber weather warning for rain in both counties until 12pm today (May 23).
Heavy rainfall has also led to a flood alerts being put in place by National Resources Wales (NRW) in areas near the River Elwy and River Gele, from Gwytherin to St Asaph and including Abergele.
This was first issued at 12.59am today.

A NRW spokesperson said: “A period of adverse weather is affecting this region. River levels are expected to be above normal.
“Flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected. We will continue to monitor the situation.
