A NEW dental practice in Prestatyn is looking to grow on the back of an encouraging initial six months of business.

Central Dental Care, which offers private-only services, opened at 5 Nant Hall Road in early November 2023.

Principal dentist and owner Kelly Rees (née Hughes), previously worked at Bod Heulog Dental Practice in Rhyl for roughly two decades prior to starting her own business.

So far, she said, the practice has taken on more than 1,000 patients, while there are plans to double the number of its working surgeries.

Kelly, a former pupil of Prestatyn High School, said: “We’re almost at capacity (in terms of patient numbers), so I just want to fill it up.

“I could probably take another 200 patients, but then I’m going to take on another dentist, so then we’ll want another 500-600.

“We’ve got 1,400 patients at the moment, so it’s going really well! We’ve got two working surgeries, with two more in the works to expand the business.

“All of the staff I’ve brought with me are really experienced. We’re going from strength to strength after six months, so I want to say a big thank you to all of my loyal patients.”

Kelly gained her BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) in 1999, and has worked as an associate dentist since then.

This is her first experience of running her own business, which does not offer NHS services and provides various payment plans and options to its new patients.

Patients will be able to sign up with Central Dental Care via its website (www.centraldentalprestatyn.co.uk), or by calling the practice on 01745 630530.

Kelly added: “It’s been really good so far. We’ve got more freedom to use whatever materials we want.

“It’s full-on – I’m full with patients every day, but I’m still hoping for more.”
