Top 5 places for ice cream:

1.  Pantri Bach Cafe & Gift Shop

Both visiting and local reviewers commented on the affordability of food at this cafe on the promenade in Pensarn.

Mum and daughter reviewers said: "Went for lunch with my mum, she hasn’t been very well and just lost a good friend. She had steak and mushroom homemade pie and I had a roast pork dinner, both excellent. We then had a knickerbocker with sweets - perfect. Would recommend everything

2. Surfside Cafe

Described by many of the 100+ reviewers on TripAdvisor as a "gem".

Situated on the prom in Pensarn, there is plenty to keep visitors entertained including bingo and 2p machines.

One reviewer commented: "This little place is packed with it all, fun, character, nostalgia, excitement and a lot of good times! The staff are always very kind and the owners are very welcoming and make you feel like your visiting family. My kids love playing golf then the 2p machines and bingo but most of all they love getting the prizes! The food is some of the best I’ve had and all very reasonably priced and good portions.

"I definitely recommend this place as a all rounder for any family and a trip out!"

3. Sidoli Cafe

Situated on Rhyl's Wellington Road, this traditional seaside cafe and ice cream parlour has been feeding visitors and locals alike for generations.

Calling it a "historic, stylish gem" reviewer Martin said: "It is the first time I entered this cafe for over 60 years. Walking into my past. A spotlessly clean and sharp evocation of what an ice cream parlour was in the 1950’s - beautiful. The service was friendly and charming.

"An absolute gem and Rhyl should celebrate it."

4. The Village Sweet Shop

Situated on Rhuddlan High Street, this venue offers a range of crafts and activities - and, of course, ice cream.

Calling it "a cute little find" one reviewer commented: "We were midway on a walk from Rhyl to Rhuddlan Castle and back along the river - walked down the high street to see what was there and came across this cute little shop - the ice cream was delicious and just what we needed! Some fab flavours too, and such an array of sweets available."

5. Batch Ice Cream Parlour

Situated on Rhyl's Marina Quay, reviewers said this "light and airy" parlour was a particular favourite with families.

Lots of the reviewers were returning customers.

One reviewer posted: "Good value for money, plenty of choice of ice cream flavour, and other dessert options to have with the ice cream. Nice seating. Quick service."
