A VIDEO which has gone viral on social media shows a man appear to punch a match official during a game on Anglesey.
The video appears to show a man punch a linesman, believed to be a teenage boy, during the Amlwch Town FC-CPD Penrhyndeudraeth Football Club match in Amlwch at the weekend.
The incident halted play at Lon Bach, with players and other officials drawn to the scene.
The North Wales Coast Football Association has discouraged members of the public from sharing the video, and said the matter is being investigated by police.
A spokesperson for the NWCFA said: "The North Wales Coast Football Association (NWCFA) are aware of a video circulating on social media in relation to an incident at Amlwch Town FC.
"This incident is currently being investigated by the police, which the NWCFA has requested details.
"Whilst this is an ongoing investigation, we would urge people not to share the video or comment as this could impact any investigation.
"The incident will be investigated accordingly on conclusion of the police investigation."
A CPD Penrhyndeudraeth Football Club statement said: "We do not know how this video got out but we urge people to remove it from their social media as it's a matter for the police and we do not want anything impacting their investigation.
"The club will make no further comment on the incident."
North Wales Police have been approached for comment.
