A WOMAN from Rhyl has been jailed after she committed eight thefts in the town – seven of which were at the same store – in the space of one month.
Nicola Walker, 48, of Meredith Crescent, was sentenced to 12 weeks’ imprisonment at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on April 17.
She admitted all eight counts of theft from a shop during the same hearing.

The court heard that seven of Walker’s eight thefts took place at the town’s Home Bargains shop, on Marsh Road, where she stole:
- Confectionery worth £122.90 on March 6.
- Confectionery worth £17.96 on March 16.
- An energy drink worth £2 on March 17.
- Toiletries worth £62.32 on March 17.
- Confectionery worth £17.41 on March 22.
- Confectionery and toiletries worth £67.24 on March 22.
- Confectionery worth £16 on April 7.
Walker also stole perfume to the value of £39 from the town’s Boots store, on High Street, on March 19.
She was described as having a “flagrant disregard for court orders”, having previously been made subject to a suspended custodial sentence.
Only a prison sentence could be justified in this instance, it was felt.
