A Wetherspoon pub in North Wales is closing its doors next month, the chain has confirmed.
The Market Cross, in Holywell, is set to close on May 12 ahead of its anticipated sale to a new owner on May 13.
The pub, situated on Holywell High Street, has been on the market since September, 2023.
A J D Wetherspoon spokesperson said: "The Wetherspoon pub will continue to trade until sold. The pub is set to be sold on May 13.
"There will not be any redundancies – staff will be offered jobs at other Wetherspoon pubs."
Last month, Wetherspoons said it had 814 pubs after selling five pubs, terminating the lease of another five and subletting another three sites.
The company said: “In the last decade, there has been a reduction in the number of trading Wetherspoon pubs, which peaked at 955 in December 2015.
“In spite of a reduction in the overall number of pubs, sales have continued to increase – total sales are now about one third higher than in 2015.”
However, Wetherspoons stressed that it still believes it has the “potential” to reach 1,000 sites across the UK.
