IT'S been another busy week in this part of the North Wales coast, with our team bringing you all the latest news and more.

1. 20mph speed limit now enforced at major road in Rhyl
The default 20mph speed limit is now being enforced at another road in Rhyl, following a review of driver behaviour and community feedback.
The new enforcement site is the A548 Russell Road/Rhyl Coast Road is now in force.

2. Kinmel Bay couple save families’ holidays after being evacuated
Lots of us were affected by the storm this week - and it inspired many acts of kindness
This couple from Kinmel Bay helped relocate families holidaying in the village who had to be evacuated from their caravans due to flooding.

The Sandy Cove region of Kinmel Bay was hit particularly hard by Storm Pierrick, with several families staying at the Golden Sands park having been told they had to leave.

3. Pontins Prestatyn site owners report record turnover
The owners of the now-closed Pontins holiday park in Prestatyn and Llandudno’s Grand Hotel have reported a record-high level of turnover in its latest accounts.
Britannia Hotels Ltd, which has been voted the UK’s worst hotel chain by Which? for 11 successive years, also saw pre-tax profits rise from £33.4million in 2022 to £39.4m in 2023.

5. Inside the new coffee shop that has opened in Rhyl
It's always great to report on a new business.
A coffee shop has opened in Rhyl, fulfilling a lifelong ambition for its owner.
Parveen Coffee, at 5 Bodfor Street, opened at the old Job Centre Plus site last week, and is run by owner Yasir Malik.
Mr Malik, from Rhyl, previously owned his own pizza and kebab takeaway, but said he wanted “something different”.
