Alisha Seddon, a resident, said: "I was woken up to screaming and banging on my door; there was a little boy at my door telling me to get out.

"The fire brigade were on my cul-de-sac running around and  knocking on everyone's doors; I was stood taking in what just happened.

"Everyone was jumping in their cars and people were running out of their houses in panic.

"There are a few new neighbours who have not even lived here for two months who I feel sorry for.

"The water is lowering now, and the fire brigade are doing their rounds; I'm still hoping the electricity will stay on, and they've said they're hoping that's the worst it will get."

Earlier, the service attended a woman stuck in her vehicle in floodwater in Llanfairfechan, meanwhile.

“Plans are in place to prepare our water assets in case of similar conditions tomorrow.
