A WOMAN left “street homeless” in Rhyl who persistently stole items to fund her drug addiction has been given a “helping hand” in her efforts to “kick the habit”.
Carly Griffiths, 34, was handed a one-year community order at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court today (March 27).
She admitted seven charges of theft during today’s hearing.

The court heard that she stole air freshener and groceries from Rhyl’s Home Bargains store on March 20 and 21.
On March 21, she also stole 15 chocolate bars and three coffee jars from another shop in Rhyl.
That same day, she stole six Lynx deodorants and a Gillette ProGlide razor from the Boots pharmacy in Rhyl.
Griffiths returned there on March 26, when she stole a further 13 Lynx deodorants.
With 24 previous convictions for 94 offences, Griffiths was said to have struggled with drug use, but willing to engage in rehabilitation.
She stole items as a means of funding her drug addiction, and had previously been sleeping in public toilets.
As part of her community order, Griffiths is banned from entering Boots in Rhyl for one year, and was ordered to complete a six-month drug rehabilitation programme.
Griffiths is also to complete 10 days’ rehabilitation activity requirements, and will pay Boots £117.49 in compensation.
Deputy District Judge, Roger Lowe, told her: “I hope the steps you’ve taken to rid yourself of this curse are real, and that the expressions that you’ve made are genuine.
“If you’re genuinely determined to kick the habit, I’m going to give you a helping hand today.
“It’s up to you to take advantage of it. If you don’t, you know where you’re going to end up.”
