RHYL has been ranked the 137th easiest place to pass your driving test in the UK, according to a new study.
Government figures show that, in the last 12 months, 2,995 driving tests have been conducted at the Rhyl centre, on Victoria Road, with 1,559 passing – representing a pass rate of 52.1 per cent.
Out of the 328 driving test centres in the UK, those in North Wales were ranked as follows in terms of the easiest:
- Pwllheli – 89th
- Bala – 101st
- Bangor – 120th
- Rhyl – 137th
- Wrexham – 226th

Figures also show that, between April 2023 to March 2024, a total of 1,476 males took the driving tests in Rhyl, with 798 passing.
This represented a pass rate of 54.1 per cent.
During the same time period, 1,519 females took their tests, with 761 passing.
This meant a pass rate of 50.1 per cent.
The list of the five driving test centres with the highest pass rates in the UK were as follows:
- Benbecula Island (88.8 per cent)
- Barra (88.2 per cent)
- Mallaig (83.3 per cent)
- Inveraray (76.5 per cent)
- Arbroath (73.1 per cent)
The five driving test centres with the lowest pass rates in the UK were:
- Plymouth LGV (16.9 per cent)
- Swindon LGV (17.5 per cent)
- Wolverhampton (32.4 per cent)
- Speke, Liverpool (32.7 per cent)
- Featherstone (33.3 per cent)
