A SHOP dedicated to supported small businesses in Rhyl has announced plans to close at the end of its lease, due to health reasons.
Seren Dream, at 6a Wellington Road, opened in November 2023, leasing out shelf spaces to more than 20 small businesses to sell their products at the store.
It was opened by Lisa Williams, 37, from Rhyl, alongside her friend and fellow businesswoman, mum-of-three Anne-Marie Jones, 36, from Denbigh.
Some of the businesses involved include Jewel Tree Cymru, Sunflower Moon Crystals, Moonbabies Massage and Les Frogs.
However, owing to Ms Jones’ health, who ran the shop on her own for the last few months, the shop will close at the end of the current lease.
They said the decision had “not been easy”, and that the business would continue to cater for and support customers and partners online.
In a social media notice to customers, Ms Jones said: “November 2023, my dream of having a shop came a reality.
“Myself and Lisa opened up Seren Dream to support local small businesses.

“The shop was an eight-week project initially, and it was a huge success.
“After Christmas, I was given the opportunity to extend the lease for a further three months. I knew this was going to be tough on my own, but I wanted to give it a good try.
“Over the last three months, I have thoroughly loved having the shop, but unfortunately, due to health reasons, I will not be able to extend the lease any further.
“This decision has not been easy - having fibro makes daily tasks difficult, and in recent weeks, it has become a huge struggle, so I need to give my health priority.
“Don't worry, I will be working on some new things that fit my health better.
“I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their support over the last five months.
“I am so proud of what we have achieved at Seren Dream - I will miss the shop and the lovely customers and fellow business holders, which I will continue to support online.”
