Following a three-day remote hearing, held on February 20, 21 and 22, Ms Scutt was found to have committed the following offences while working for COPA (North Wales Training):
- On October 26, 2020, she drank alcohol while at work.
- On the same day, she failed to pour the alcohol away after a colleague asked her to.
- On February 24, 2021, she attended a court hearing during working hours, having failed to pre-authorise this absence with her line manager.
- On September 5, 2022, she shared sensitive, confidential information with a colleague, and in the presence of another colleague and a student.
Ms Scutt’s prohibition order lasts for three years, meaning she is removed from the Register of Education Practitioners until at least February 22, 2027.
Only after this date can she apply to be restored to the register.
She has the right of appeal to the High Court within 28 days of the ruling.
A COPA spokesperson said: “We are supportive of the Education Workforce Council and are satisfied with the outcome.”
