A FORMER contestant on The X Factor is among the names on the line-up for Towyn’s first Pride event this summer.
Sami Brookes, who hails from Rhyl and who made the live shows stage of the competition in 2011, will be performing at Towyn Pride, at the Morton Arms pub on Sandbank Road on June 1.
The event will run from 2pm until 1am the following morning.

Pride events typically celebrate people coming together in love and friendship, to show how far LGBTQ+ rights have come, and how in some areas, there is still work to do.
This event will be held during Pride Month, which is celebrated annually in June, as that was the month when the 1969 Stonewall riots took place.
Darren Howells, entertain manager, said: “We welcome you to our very first Towyn Pride, hosted by the Morton Arms.
“Everyone is welcome throughout the day, with loads going on, and live entertainment, with our very own Sami Brookes, TNT Harmony Duo, plus many, many more during the day.
“It’s the first one ever in Towyn, and we are being asked by lots of acts to join the stage line-up.”
There will also be a cash bingo event as part of the festivities, while entry will be free.
