FOOTAGE has been shared showing the moment a person at a pub in Kinmel Bay shouted for a dog to be put "under control" during an incident when it injured four people.
The dog's owner, Thomas Skillen, 29, of Marine Road, Abergele, was sentenced to two-and-a-half years’ imprisonment at Mold Crown Court on March 1.
His stepfather, Ian Loftus, 59, of Argoed, Kinmel Bay, was also handed a 14-month prison sentence, suspended for a year-and-a-half, for his involvement in the incident.
The incident in question took place on September 15, 2023 at The Magpie and Stump pub at Palins Holiday Park.
You can watch the footage, shown in court and provided by the Crown Prosecution Service, below.
The dog, a Rottweiler cross called Kilo, bit four people during that incident, including two members of security staff.
A number of the four people bitten by the dog later had to attend hospital for their injuries to be treated.
Judge Niclas Parry told Skillen and Loftus that their dog had caused “ghastly” wounds and “absolutely appalling” injuries.
He said: “This is, on the face of it, as dangerous a dog as you can get, and some of the injuries are just dreadful.”
A further hearing will take place on April 15 regarding whether the dog will be put down.
