IT'S been another busy week in this part of the North Wales coast, with our team bringing you all the latest news from Rhyl, Prestatyn, Abergele, and the surrounding area.

1. Rhyl nurse struck off for serious misconduct with slew of charges
The most read article this week was the report how a nurse who worked at a residential home in Rhyl was struck off for serious misconduct which put her patients at risk of “serious harm".
Erdora Margareta Cuc was handed an interim suspension order after transgressions during her time at Akari Care between February, 2019, and May, 2020.

2. Progress update on former Woolworths building in Rhyl
Readers were keen to see pictures showing how work is going on the building that used to house Woolworths in Rhyl.
In 2023, the owner of the former Woolworths building was issued with a formal notice from Denbighshire County Council, requiring them to improve the poor condition of the building.

3. Eight Rhyl and Prestatyn businesses given new food hygiene ratings
People are always keen to see the new food hygiene ratings given to their local eateries.
This week, food hygiene ratings were awarded to eight businesses in Rhyl and Prestatyn, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
The food hygiene rating scheme gives businesses in England and Wales a rating of 0-5, 5 being the highest, based on their hygiene standards.

4. What this space at Rhyl's Lyons Robin Hood will become!
This week, leisure giant Lyons unveiled details about a new outdoor space being created at its Rhyl site.
The venue, at Lyons Robin Hood, will consist of an outdoor canopy, providing UV protection from the sun, shelter from the rain.
It will act as an additional entertainment space all year round.

5. Abergele pub to reopen under new management on Friday
A pub in Abergele, which is under new management, confirmed it would re-open this week - with a new name.
The Bridge Head, previously the Pen y Bont Inn, will re-open to customers on St David's Day, March 1.
The pub, which has undergone a few upgrades, is located on Bridge Street.
