A NURSING home in Rhyl has received praise for its “warm and welcoming” environment after an inspection by Care Inspectorate Wales.
Bradshaw Manor Care Home, at 2 Chester Street, was visited by the care body in November, with a report published the next month.
The nursing home caters for 65 adult residents, and describes itself as a “luxury care home” in close proximity to several attractions in the town.
The report into the business commended the close relationships between staff and residents, the level of care and support available to residents, and the happiness among patients.
It praised the “pleasantly decorated, clean, and well maintained” environment, and the skill and knowledge of staff were singled out.
The report did note, however, that more documentation was required to show how residents’ views were used to enhance the service provided.
A summary of the report stated: “The home is warm and welcoming. People experience good levels of care and support from appropriate numbers of staff who know them well. People can exercise choice in their day to day lives, and visitors are encouraged throughout the day.

“Staff have good rapport with people and treat them with dignity and respect. People told us they like living there and are well looked after; this was supported by feedback from relatives.
“The service provider has systems in place to ensure the smooth running of the service, and the home is pleasantly decorated, clean, and well maintained.
“The Responsible Individual (RI) visits the service regularly and has oversight of the management of the home. The RI and the manager ensure people receive the care they need and have the equipment and facilities needed to achieve their desired outcomes.
“Feedback about people’s experiences in the home is sought, but more work is needed to evidence how people’s views are used to develop and enhance the service provided in the home.
“Staff feel well supported by the manager in their work and their ongoing professional development. Staff are competent, skilled, and knowledgeable, and are confident raising concerns with the manager.”
One recommendation for improvement was made:
- The provider must demonstrate how they have used people's views and opinions to support the rationale behind planned improvements to the quality of care provided in the home
