IT'S been another busy week in this part of the North Wales coast, with our team bringing you all the latest news.

1. Aerial photos of Rhyl seafront from the Journal archives
We all like a bit of nostalgia, and hundreds of readers enjoyed these aerial photos of Rhyl.
The date our photographer took these is unknown but some eagle-eyed readers must be able to take a good guess.
Visible are some iconic sights from the seaside town, including the fun fair, paddling pool and Sky Tower.

2. 'Vital' Disability Resource Centre closes without warning
Our chief reporter Suzanne Kendrick broke the story that staff have been left "broken hearted" for their vulnerable customers following the sudden closure of a "lifeline" service located in Glan Clwyd Hospital grounds.
One devastated worker, who has asked not to be named, was made redundant from The Disability Resource Centre on Thursday, January 25, along with eight other staff.

3. Jobs go live for new 'luxury' Lyons Dyserth resort
People were keen to read that 100 jobs will be on offer at the Lyons Group's new multi-million-pound resort in Dyserth.
Lyons is looking for specific senior managers including a general manager, head chef, bars manager, restaurant manager, leisure manager, spa manager and grounds manager.

4. Why work is taking place at the old Woolworths in Rhyl
Many readers were interested to learn that work is taking place to the building that used to house Woolworths in Rhyl.
The much-loved shop closed to shoppers in 2009.
In 2023, the owner of the former Woolworths building was issued with a formal notice from Denbighshire County Council, requiring them to improve the poor condition of the building.

5. Rhyl community hub closes after becoming ‘not sustainable’
Readers were saddened to learn that a community hub in Rhyl has closed after those in charge said that running it became “not sustainable”.
High Street Hwb, at 1-4 East Parade, opened in late 2022, at the former home of Woolworths and Gala Bingo.
The building had been left abandoned after a £1.5million cannabis farm was found there in 2021.
