A CHRISTMAS appeal by the rotary collected an impressive £2,000 for charities.
Rhyl Rotary's float visit supermarkets and streets in Rhuddlan, Rhyl and St Asaph prior to the festive day. Santa and Rudolph also 'took to the streets' with their Rotarian elf helpers in their brightly-painted new musical float and brought cheer and excitement to youngsters.
Money raised will support a range of charities supported by the club, including 'Young Carers' and 'Blossom and Bloom' which helps new deserving young Mums from North Wales.
Tony Thomas, president of the club, said: "We are overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone involved and thank the local supermarkets for their help and co-operation. Funds are still coming in but it looks as though this will be a bumper year for the collection, with over £2,000 raised already.
