A MAN from St Asaph who drove a car without its owner’s consent, a licence or insurance, and resisted four police constables in a later incident, has been jailed.
Samuel Jones, 32, of Lower Denbigh Road, was sentenced to 26 weeks’ imprisonment at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on November 22.
He had admitted the following charges:
- Using threatening behaviour
- Obstructing/resisting a constable in execution of duty.
- Criminal damage to property.
- Driving a motor vehicle which had been taken without the owner's consent.
- Driving a motor vehicle without a licence.
- Driving a motor vehicle without third party insurance.
The court heard that, on May 1, Jones took a Volkswagen vehicle in Rhyl, before driving it on Edgbaston Road without its owner’s consent.
Then, on Bath Street, Rhyl on October 1, he exhibited threatening behaviour towards Adam Roberts, and caused £2,000 of damage to garden items belonging to Nicola Powell.
On the same day, Jones resisted four police constables; Rebecca Donaghy, Samantha Jenner, Lloyd Williams, and Connor Alston.
In addition to his prison sentence, Jones was handed a nine-month driving ban.
He had committed these offences during the operational period of a suspended sentence, which was revoked at last week’s court hearing.
